Long day to HOME..........

This morning I took my time getting ready to head home, packing up the last minute toiletries and etc. Saying GoodBye is so so hard. Mary Ann, Lori, Tamara, Rachelle, Jerica, Corne, Cherise, Jim it was so hard to say good bye. You guys kick butt this week, I believe in all of you. I've done pretty good as I sit here in the Las Vegas airport waiting for my 6pm flight home. I've walked around for over an hour (snails pace) I had Quizno's soup and sandwich for lunch. So far, so good. I've seen lots of temptations but it hasn't even appealed to me (yet). As soon as I get to see my family I'll assure you all I'll post my results.
So Today is Thursday and I finally am posting my results as my daughter and granddaughter was at the airport with my husband, seen all the kids Tuesday for Lily's 3rd birthday so I can now post drumroll.......................
weight lost 15 pounds and 2 more pounds since I've been home
chest I lost 2.5 inches
belly I lost 2.5 inches
Hips I lost 5.0 inches
thigh I lost 1.5 inches
Calf I lost 1. inch
arm I lost 1.25 inches
I lost 3.5% body fat
and my BMI went down 2.4
I am only about 28 pounds from goal.... YEAH
I am super excited. Today was the first day since I've been home to exercise and the difference in hiking up the hill was great, the biggest difference was not being out of breath.
I'll try and keep everyone up to date on my progress as I continue forward on my weight loss journey.

1:01 Stop Sign Hike Today

Wow I got a really good sleep last night. It is so awesome on Saturday because you get to sleep in, Breakfast was at 7am however, I had a 7:40 appt to weight and measure out. I will post my results next Week so I can show me off to my family first. I am very happy with the results. CNBC sent a camera crew back today to record my weight loss, inches loss, lower bmi and lower body fat. The van's leave at 8:00 am and I did not want to eat breakfast until after I weighed so I ate my piece of toast and 12 almonds on the ride to the stop sign beginning. The camera's were rolling most of the way. I already had placed enough pressure on me to try and finish the stop sign in under an hour. Oh so close but that is ok because I shaved off 21 minutes from 4 weeks ago. Made it back to the resort and today we had stretch at eleven however, I was interviewed from the cameras and took a couple of pictures of the new me. Lunch today was Red Pepper Hummus and Pumpkin soup. 1:00 I had an appt for a manicure and it is so nice to look girly again. Now I have the rest of the afternoon off until dinner and graduation at 5:30. Dinner tonight is BBQ chicken sandwich and chocolate banana for dessert for 1,283 calories. Calorie burn was 1615 for today. NEWS FLASH, Dan Evans and his mom Jackie from Biggest Loser season 5 arrive tomorrow for a week of the program. It really does work and is a lifestyle change I'm so excited to make. I ask all of my family & friends to respect the changes that I'm to embark on so I can live a longer and healthier life to enjoy my inspiration and love of my grandkids. To all the guest's I leave behind I believe in each and everyone of you. You can do it!!!! To those who are going home the best of luck and you are all ready doing it. I'll miss you all.

My last Friday

Today brings just about as many emotions as did the day I arrived almost 30 days ago. I'm torn that I have to leave some friends behind here, some are heading home and now I have to prepare for the real world. I'm ready. Tomorrow is my last stop sign hike.
Today I did open gym at 6am and did mostly weight work. Breakfast was a Spanish Frittata (ick) I had toast and 12 almonds. I choose to do West Canyon today for 8 miles that is mostly dirt and gravel road to prepare for Stop Sign tomorrow. It was so beautiful today, the sun was out I just love it. I did the 11:15 pool class and it was one of my favorite pool classes. Lunch today was chicken stew and a roll and my family knows I'm not a stew person, however this was wonderful. The afternoon we had class on how to schedule our workouts, cardio, cardio, and more cardio. 2:30 class was circuit, then dance jam and it was so fun we ended up doing an angel shuffle (I think that is what they called it) and the macarena it was fun. The last class for today was pool and their was so many in the pool it was a flashback to the 80's aerobics class only in water. What a way to end the day. Dinner was a turkey meatball sandwich and parfait for dessert. Calories taken in today was 1047 and calorie burn was 2265.

Singing in the Rain

The picture is of me yesterday in my last "Kickboxing class". The rock formation that I'm standing in front of is fake. We drive by it just about each day or when we head to Snow Canyon State Park, the gentleman who made it made his face and his wife's face on the rock, unfortunately they don't show up very well in the pic. The day started out with 6 am total body conditioning class and how the size of the class has dwindled down to where only 5 showed up who knows maybe the rest where in open gym. Breakfast was a peanut butter and jelly panini with banana slices and blackberries. I had to pick off my bananas and blackberries and eat them separate. It was one of those rainy days and instead of having rainy day blues, I did the mini stop sign hike which is almost 3 miles, and back to the ridge which was just a little under 10 miles. I walked with Mary Ann she is a "rock star", she pushes me. (Thank you)
So because we walked all the way back to the ridge that counts as our 11:15 class. Lunch was delicious it was Hawaiian Pizza and Tortilla soup, I ate all the soup. You will never guess what I did after lunch, my roommate Merinda, and I took a nap and set our phone alarms for 2:15 to be ready for ball works class. It's only a little ball who could imagine so many things to do with a ball. One of the classes that has become one of my favorite was treading and today is a day of I can't believe I did that. I did the entire class on a spin bike. I have never sweated ever that hard before in only 45 minutes. I really want to thank Tiffany for being my inspiration and inspiring me to do more, because she believed in me, I now can say I believe in me. I'm worthy. After treading it was pool and how nice to take the pressure off your joints. The rain didn't last long today thank goodness however, the pool was still cold and the hot tub was wonderful. Dinner tonight was also delicious maybe I'm just getting use to healthy eating was Stuffed Chicken, wild rice and 2 chocolate strawberries for dessert. Tonight because I head for home this weekend we had Menu Planning for departing guests and it was awesome she Emily, the Registered Dietician gave us a sample 7 day meal plan for 1200, 1400 and 1600 calories. We also received a sheet of websites one she emphasized was http://www.mypyramid.gov shows food group recommendations if we don't want to count calories. I haven't looked it up yet. I did a load of laundry and I'm now really ready to give my last 2 final pushes before departing. Tomorrow I'm signed up to do the slots hike again and I think it will be fun especially if the weather stays nice and Saturday my final stop sign hike. Thanks again to everybody who has been following my blog. Calories consumed today 1108 calories burned 2633. Happy exercising!!!!!!!

Camelback Hike

Last night I didn't sleep very well, the legs seemed to move around constantly and could not settle down or get comfortable and everytime I rolled on my side I felt like my shoulders hurt. (we did do a lot of upper arm exercise in total toning yesterday).
So needless to say I did not make the 6am class this morning I was up and dressed just in time for breakfast. Today's hike we had to drive 25 minutes west of here went thru a little town called Gunlock pop 247. The hike had a little sand, but mostly all of it was sandstone up to where the rocks look like 2 humps to a camel. Just incredible I hope my pictures convey that to you. After the hike we had stretch class. Today we had the opportunity to go to Quizno's and order lunch and I ate a sandwich Honey Bourbon Chicken on wheat bread for 300 calories. I'll know during the afternoon classes if it kept me full or not. Breakfast this morning was hot mueslix so I had toast and 12 almonds. 2:30 kickboxing, 3:30 Mountain, 4:30 pool Dinner tonight is my favorite Salmon with Israeli Couscous. Dessert was grilled pineapple. I have a one on one with the life coach here to help me develop my plan and strategy for going home and I'm super excited about doing that. Calories ate today 1,248 and calorie burn was 2708.

RMR and VO2 Test Day

There is one basic truth to weight loss. You need to burn more than you eat. Target Metabolic Zones tell you exactly how to do that. My results of my test shows you precisely how many calories your body actually burns and calculates how many calories you should eat to lose or maintain your weight. So I found out that I have a fast metabolism. So for me to be in my weight loss zone I would need to eat between 1602 calories and 2002 a day. 2002 calories is what I need to do nothing but breathe and sit.
My VO2 test shows that my workout heart rate zone to lose weight should be between 121-151. If I work out for an hour at 121 I would burn 364 calories and it showed that for my fitness level it is Good!!!!!I was super happy and then the good thing too was my recovery heart rate was 120 in a 1 minute which was 54% and 2 minute 89 was 99%.

My day began at 5:30am with the Resting Metabolic Rate then at 6am I had open gym where I worked out on cardio and weight machines. Breakfast this morning was the parfait again. The hike I did was Chuckawalla again because I had to try and take it easy before the VO2 test. Today because I worked so hard on the stop sign and the rest of the day working out my legs felt like rubber or that I had bricks in my shoes. And I was like that all day long, I just feel beat. After the hike I choose to do free weight workshop since a different trainer was teaching it. Lunch was tomato soup and a turkey sandwich. Today was our 1st lecture of Planning Strategies before going home we had to record to do lists on our fitness goal, nutrition, education, and relaxation. 2:30 cardio intervals, 3:30 total toning, 4:30 Pool and dinner was an enchilada and banana ice cream (that I'm still tasting yuck). Calories at today was 1,204 my calorie burn today was 2,093. I am exhausted so good night and thanks to everyone who reads my blog and comments and sorry I don't have the energy to reply to them all. But thank you very much.

My last Monday

6am Yogalates today was mostly pilates and it is so exciting to see the progress I have made to my core in 4 weeks.
Wow Today was my second to last stop sign hike. I have a new PR 1:04:15 today I tried to run on the flat parts and then I finished running at the end. I ended up taking my hydration pack off at the little stop sign so I wouldn't have to wear on the hill. At the stop sign you can either walk back down (which I don't do because of my shin) or go on a paved path for about a mile and then their is a dirt road that overlooks the trail and the road and it looks so far away, I didn't have my camera so I'll have to make sure a use my pack on Saturday so I'll have my camera because it was an incredible view. Today was also the first day I didn't have to start off the morning with my gloves and headband it was nice warmer than it has been. Breakfast was a egg sandwich with turkey bacon and fruit. After the hike like that wasn't enough already had to come back and do mountain you remember increase resistance or speed or both every 3 minutes for 12 times. I made the mistake telling the trainer it was my last week so push me and she said you better be careful for what you wish for. Needless to say I was on the recumbent bike and went all out. (it wasn't a mistake because I can do it)
Lunch today was tilapia tacos not bad with sunchoke soup (never heard of a sunchoke before) Pretty tasty. 2:30 class circuit, 3:30 class step n pump and oh my gosh the head trainer came in and gave most of us 3rd and 4th weekers a riser to put under our step and we do 200 squats with 1 foot on the step and the other on the floor, no wonder my quads feel like rubber now. 4:30 class was Pool and then hot tub and then dinner. Dinner was chicken and wasabi potatoes with 4 asparagus. Pineapple sorbet for dessert. I have included a picture of dinner. Calories ate 1,174 Calories Burned 3,372.
Tomorrow will be a busy day as I have an appt for 5:30 am to have my resting metabolic rate tested and at noon I have the VO2 test. We have a workshop for departing guests - Planning Strategies . I received the funnest care package today from Gracey my grand daughter with muscle mend ointment, foot cream, hand cream and body wash, lip balm, socks and eye covers thank you so much. The foot cream is heavenly along with the muscle cream. I am really missing home and I'm giving it my last chance workout every day. See you all soon. Love you, Chase, Lily, Gracey and Calli you're all my inspiration!!!!!
